SAFFRON

Logo & Identity Design

The only Iranian restaurant in Hong Kong, which I rebranded and redesigned its identity in 2021. I really love this project because it is extensive, detailed, and ongoing over the years. It always provides a great space for creativity and never feels repetitive for me.

For the logo, I drew inspiration from the patterns and designs of traditional  TERMEH motifs, aiming to convey the authenticity and historical heritage of Iran and Iranian cuisine.

What is termeh?

Termeh is a type of valuable and traditional fabric, often made from Silk, cashmere, or Wool, and featuring intricate traditional patterns. This fabric is produced in Iran and is highly popular due to its delicate and complex designs.

Famous Termeh patterns include Paisley and Shah Abbasi flower. Each design had a specific meaning and played an important role in Iranian culture and art. During the Qajar period, Termeh was used in the clothing of kings and courtiers and even gifted to foreign rulers.

In logo design, it’s essential to convey messages, either directly or indirectly, that help the audience gain a deeper understanding of the brand’s identity.
